IReady Universal Screener
First through sixth grade students at Crossfield will take iReady assessments April 24-June 9. The iReady Universal Screener webpage has more information about these assessments. Please contact your student’s teacher or our test coordinator, Lea Fadden, with questions.

Got Sneakers?
Extended until Friday May 5th!
Bring your old Sneakers to Crossfield! The PTO is sponsoring a sneaker recycling program. There will be a bin in the lobby through Friday May 5th. The sneakers will be sent to GotSneakers which is a recycling organization that will pay Crossfield for the sneakers we donate. They will recirculate or recycle the sneakers. Breakfast with Buddies is coming up on May 17 & 18! Students may invite buddies for a donut breakfast before school in the cafeteria. You won't want to miss it.

SPRING KINDERGARTEN ASSESSMENT
The Virginia Kindergarten Readiness Program (VKRP) assessments provide actionable information that will assist teachers, school leaders, and parents/guardians in supporting student success in school and to better understand school readiness skills across the state of Virginia. This spring, April 17-May 19, kindergarten students at Crossfield will participate in the three assessment components of the VKRP, which measure literacy, mathematics, self-regulation, and social skills. Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Spotlight

Grades 3-6 students took the SEL Screener (social emotional learning) in March and parents should have received score reports in May. If you’re wondering what these results mean, please take a look at the family guide which includes some helpful conversation starters for each domain. Kindergarten Registration:
It’s as Easy as 1-2-3…
Kindergarten registration is open at Crossfield and other schools in Fairfax County. Parents of students entering kindergarten in August, should follow the instructions at this link to complete the 5-step process for student enrollment. Covid Case Manager
Please include our Principal, Mark Granieri, on emails alerting Crossfield that your child has tested positive for Covid. Mr. Granieri will communicate with families with the official letter and a timeline for returning to school for covid-positive students. Mr. Granieri’s email is mtgranieri@fcps.edu
