The Swing of Spring

Spring is in full swing in our nest!  Last week we celebrated Earth Day as well as the Month of the Military Child.  Several students drew posters to encourage recycling.  We also wore our “RED” to Remember Everyone Deployed.

We are looking forward to the Children’s Festival this coming Saturday, April 29th from 10:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at Crestwood.  Please bring your family and enjoy games, performances, community resources, and food trucks. We look forward to seeing you there!

Sincerely,

Marguerite Saitta, Principal

Larry Caines, Assistant Principal

Kolette De La Cruz, Assistant Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians:

Across Virginia, students will be taking Standards of Learning (SOL) tests this spring. Federal and state education departments have decided not to cancel this year’s assessments. In Fairfax County Public Schools, testing for grades 3-8 will be scheduled between May 1 – 26, 2023.  Retakes will be scheduled May 1 – June 2, 2023.  Below is our Crestwood ES SOL Testing Calendar.  Starting this year, SOL Testing is a one day test.  Students can take as long as they need to test.  If your student needs to continue testing past dismissal, you will receive a phone call from the School Testing Coordinator.

Please contact the Main Office at 703-923-5400 or your School Testing Coordinator Kolette De La Cruz or Larry Caines if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Kolette De La Cruz & Larry Caines

School Testing Coordinator/Assistant Principal
