I hope everyone had a glorious long weekend and had additional time to spend with family and the spring weather.
Aside from the typical instruction and meetings, last week was PACKED full of family and community events that were a lot of fun and brought the Lemon Road family together. Tuesday, we sent sixth graders to Philadelphia, welcomed our rising Kindergarteners and families for an orientation, and heard from Ms. Burke and Ms. Busch at our April PTA general meeting. On Wednesday we welcomed families from several schools to hear about the Level IV program for next year and highlighted many of our artists at Marshall High School for the annual Pyramid Art Show! On Wednesday, our community showed support and thanked our military youth for their strength and scarifies by participating in Purple Up.
Tomorrow morning, we invite all parents and community member who have volunteered throughout the year for breakfast in our library beginning at 8:15. This is a small way we give back to those who support our school! Invitations went home last week, but some get lost in transit, so join us if you can!
Have a great week ~ Mrs. Castillo
Lemon Road is planning for next year! In order to monitor class size and hire the very best staff, we need to know plans for our families. Please take a moment to complete the student/family intent form available here: https://lemonroades.fcps.edu/student-services/student-intention-form.
Rising kindergarteners or new families to Lemon Road, please complete this form: https://lemonroades.fcps.edu/student-services/new-student-registration.
Parents that wish to contribute information towards class lists for the 2023 - 2024 school year, may submit this form. Completion of the form is optional, however, the deadline for submission is April 28, 2023. Thank you for your partnership. Parents of rising kindergarteners will receive a separate link this summer.

Staff Appreciation Week is coming up fast. At Lemon Road we celebrate all of the wonderful staff who contribute to our school during Teacher Appreciation Week, which this year is May 1st-May 5th. We have lots of fun activities planned for the LRES team but we need your help to make it all happen - you can sign up to volunteer or donate now! Thank you to everyone who has already contributed. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090f4ca4ae2fa5fd0-staff1#/
- Save the date! Our May General Meeting on May 16th will focus on the transition to Middle School for our 6th grade families and will feature LRES alumni students as well as staff talking about how best to prepare. We will also look at how families grades K-5 can be preparing for the new school year over the summer. Child care for ages 5-11 will be provided.
Next week we will talk about the strength of purpose. Purpose means you have beliefs about the meaning of life and your life’s purpose. You seek to be part of something greater than yourself. Purpose gives individuals the sense that they are put on this earth for a reason and that they are somehow connected with humanity or the universe. That reason can have all kinds of variety. It could be to create a unique invention, to bring joy through art or music, or to raise their children to become good people. These people have a true calling.
