26th Annual Herndon ES Career Day!

Career day with student

PreK is never too young to start exploring careers or jobs at our Career Day!

Herndon ES held their 26th Annual Career Day on Wednesday, April 19.  For 26 years, counselor Tiffany Bryant has been pouring her heart and soul into this event to give our students in PreK to 6th grade a broad view of careers.  Her outreach to bring in professionals in all different jobs and careers spans from our community to across the world.  Thank you to Tiffany and her team, counselors Brian Falkey and Karsyn Boyer!

We had over 50 presenters come and engage with our eager students.  Thank you to all who took the time out of their busy day to be with us!

Thank you to our wonderful teachers, staff ,volunteers, and PTA who guided the students with making their briefcases and business cards, set up and break down of the event, donating food for breakfast and lunch, and clean up!

Parent Volunteers needed in Cafeteria

Herndon ES parents and guardians,

We have opened up our cafeteria to volunteers again!  Students love to see their parents come to school to volunteer.  Volunteering in the cafeteria is a wonderful opportunity see your child and their friends while helping others at the same time.

Lunch is 11-2pm and the volunteers in the cafeteria assist with passing out utensils, helping open student's containers, and helping the dining room assistants out where needed

You may volunteer as much as you would like or even one day per week.  Feel free to encourage other parents to come, too!  Many hands make light work.

Thank you!

Please contact Assistant Principal Elizabeth Baxter at eabaxter@fcps.edu.
