We look forward to welcoming our newest Hawks to Hayfield ES for the 2023-24 school year. All information pertaining to registration, including eligibility and forms is outlined on our student registration page on our HES website where you can make a registration appointment.
Yearbook Sale - Online Orders Only
LAST DAY TO ORDER APRIL 14, 2023
Order your 2022-2023 Hayfield Elementary Yearbook now. The price is $18. April 14 is the last day to order a yearbook. Please Note: The school will not have extra yearbooks to be purchased after April 14.
FCPS is proud to celebrate National Arab American Heritage Month in April. This special month provides an opportunity to recognize the remarkable history and valuable contributions of Arab Americans. Arab Americans have ancestry in one of the world’s 22 Arab nations, which are located from northern Africa through western Asia. The people of these nations are ethnically, politically, and religiously diverse but share a common cultural and linguistic heritage. Learn more about the heritage months, celebrations, and traditions celebrated in FCPS.

Remember to Check Lost and Found
Our lost and found is overflowing with items. If you think your child may be missing an item, please come to school between 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and look through the lost and found located in our front lobby.
Any items not picked up on the last day of school, June 16, will be donated to local charity organizations.

Purple Up Spirit Week!
Join in spirit week for an opportunity for our school to visibly show our support and thank our military children for their strength and sacrifice.
Monday, April 17- Patriotic Day (wear red, white and blue or stars and stripes)
Tuesday, April 18 - Camo Day (wear your camouflage)
Wednesday, April 19 - Purple UP for Military Children Day (wear Purple)
Thursday, April 20 – Earth Day (wear blues and greens)
Friday, April 21 - NO SCHOOL

Visit to Hayfield Elementary School from the Hayfield Secondary JROTC
Save the Date: April 18 - 9 a.m. at HES
Hayfield JROTC is supporting “Month of the Military Child” with a visit to HES. Cadets in Uniform will demonstrate their formal Drill and Ceremony for students.
Get Ready to “Purple Up” on Wednesday, April 19 for “FCPS Purple Up Day”. April is Month of the Military Child – a time to recognize and honor military kids. Show your support for our military kids. Wear your FCPS Purple Up! T-Shirt or anything purple to celebrate!!
April is the Month of the Military Child! Every year we take the opportunity to recognize military-connected youth for their service and contribution to our community. Fairfax County Public Schools is proud to have over 14,000 military-connected youth as a part of our student body. We appreciate the varied life experiences they bring to our school community, and recognize their strength and resilience. Operation Purple Camps & Family Retreats - Free
Each year, the National Military Family Association offers “Operation Purple” Summer Camps and Operation Family Retreat opportunities. These programs are provided exclusively for military kids and families and are free of charge. Check out the various programs offered:

Free Tax Filing, Made for the Military
Filing taxes with MilTax means no cost, no matter what. MilTax is a benefit earned through military service, so make sure eligible service members know they can file free and schedule a consultation with a tax expert.

After School Enrichment Classes Registration
After school enrichment classes start NEXT WEEK, April 17!! Enrollment is open this week and closes on Sunday. The session will run for 8 classes from April 17 - June 9 (make up week will be the week of June 12). Classes include art, cooking, STEM, Chess, Yoga, and Theater!
