Dear Lake Anne Family,
We've had a wonderful time celebrating our Spring Spirit Week! Our students are all looking forward to a fun and restful Spring Break.
Spring Break is from April 3-7. We hope that everyone enjoys the week!
Quarter 3 ends April 13. April 13 is a 2-Hour Early Release followed by a Teacher Workday on April 14.

 Inspirigirl is a nonprofit educational group run by students at Thomas Jefferson High School (TJHSST) that provides free computer science classes, workshops, and events for students with a focus on encouraging girls to participate in computer science.
We will be holding our free Spring 2023 virtual computer science classes this year between April and May, and all students are welcome! We offer various coding courses for all different age and level groups. Classes are completely free thanks to our teaching volunteers!

Parents, grandparents, and teachers, pick the perfect books to help your young friends spring into reading! Students! Shop for yourself and find the next book in a series, something on your assigned reading list, or a new favorite. We have fiction and non-fiction, reference and study guides for older readers, teaching and education books, board books, middle grade series, even some family friendly movies and movies to watch with older kids.
All materials are donated. We restock every day until supplies run out so plan to shop early and shop often! Proceeds go to literacy programming and materials at the library and in our community. Thursday, March 30 10am to 5pm Friday, March 31 10am to 5pm Saturday, April 1 10am to 5pm Sunday, April 2 10am to 3pm We reserve the right to limit quantities. We are excited to show you the most recent version of proposed goals for the new Strategic Plan. Participants will have an opportunity to learn about the suggested updates and ask questions via Zoom Chat. Language interpretation will be available in Spanish. A certified deaf interpreter will be available as well.
Beginning Monday, March 20, families and staff will also be able to provide feedback on proposed updates to the SR&R via a short survey. Please stay tuned for details. Visit FCPS’ website for more information.

It's time to order our 2022-2023 yearbook!
You can order your yearbook by sending in a check for $15.00 with your child made out to Strawbridge. Orders are due by April 24.

Lake Anne is excited to welcome volunteers into our building! Volunteer opportunities might include:
- Cutting out lamination
- Being a reading buddy with some students
- Helping with small groups
- Working with Eco-Club
- Helping in the library
- Cafeteria Duty
- Helping make games
- Stuffing Tuesday Folders
All volunteers must go through a volunteer orientation. If you were not able to attend the in-person offering of the orientation and you would like to volunteer. Please contact Lee Roberts at Lcroberts@fcps.edu

 With Tutor.com through Schoology, FCPS students are able to get learning help at any time, even from bilingual tutors! Students in FCPS meet with tutors thousands of times each week to practice reading, prepare for an upcoming math test, write computer programs, study for the SAT, or to get feedback on scholarship essays–all at no cost to their families! If you haven’t already, we encourage you to take just a few minutes to connect with a tutor with your child. More info about Tutor.com in FCPS is available here.
