Enjoy Spring Break!

Crestwood Elementary School will be closed from Monday, April 3rd - Friday, April 7th.  Take this time to enjoy the warmer weather and signs of spring sprouting around in the community!   What a wonderful time to take a walk, go for a bike ride, or enjoy the local parks.  This is a great opportunity to connect with what students are learning in science from life cycles to animal habitats to seasonal changes.  We hope you enjoy this week together and look forward to seeing our Owls spring back to school on Monday, April 10th!

Sincerely,

Marguerite Saitta, Principal

Larry Caines, Assistant Principal

Kolette De La Cruz, Assistant Principal

Math Night was a HUGE hit!

On March 15th Crestwood Elementary School hosted a Math Curriculum Night.  Families joined together for a night filled with hands-on math games using dice, dominoes and cards.  Students and their families worked their way through different math stations around the school!  It was such a delight seeing so many students and families making memories with math together.  Thank you to all of the teachers, staff, volunteers and families who made this night a HUGE success!

Update Your Emergency Care Information Through weCare@school

Fairfax County Public Schools provides weCare@school (weCare), an emergency care information system, to parents/caregivers who have registered for their own parent account. weCare helps manage emergency medical information by allowing parents to enter and update their children’s medical data online at their convenience. That contact information automatically enrolls parents/caregivers to receive eNotify communications from the district and their child’s school. eNotify is the communications tool for FCPS emergency, transportation, attendance, weather closings and delay, and essential outreach messages. Messages are sent via email, text, and occasionally phone.

Does Your Child Qualify for PreK or Early Head Start?

FCPS PreK and Early Head Start Programs provide a quality preschool experience with no cost to qualifying families who live in Fairfax County. Your family may qualify for preK or Early Head Start if you:

Crestwood Families Celebrate Ramadan

This year, the first day of Ramadan is Wednesday, March 22. Ramadan is the most sacred month of the year, a time for spiritual discipline for Muslims, who believe it was during this month that God revealed the first verses of the Quran to Mohammed. Read more about Ramadan in National Geographic Kids. Ramadan begins with a half “O Day” on March 22, followed by an O Day on March 23.

The school calendar recognizes many religious and cultural observances (O days) during the school year. There is school on these days, however, the School Board has directed that tests, quizzes, field trips, graduation, homecoming, or FCPS-scheduled athletic events will not be held on these observance days. Half-O days are full school days, but important events will not be held after school on those days. See the complete 2022-23 school year calendar.

Ramadan Mubarak to our students and families who observe!
