CES Weekly Update 3.31.23

Message from the Principal

I wanted to begin by wishing everyone of our staff, students and your families a wonderful Spring Break.

As we bring in April, we are already planning for the end of the year. Below you will find our upper grade SOL assessment schedule to mark on your calendars. Our students will end this school year with continuation of a deep dive into our curriculum, spring field trips, hands on days of learning and of course end of the year celebrations. We hope all these special days will round out a wonderful year of learning, connections and growth.

Our spring break comes at a perfect time to provide a rejuvenating break for everyone when our weather is beginning to warm up. To our staff and students, you have worked so hard and I hope each and every one of you can take the time away to enjoy friends and family doing something that you love.

When we return from break we will introduce our new salad bar to all classes.  Please read more about it below and help share information with your children as we transition to a new lunch buying process and increased options for healthy food choices.

See you back at school on April 10th!

Sincerely,

Stacy Kirkpatrick

Take a look at this video to learn more about this option for a healthy lunch for all Chipmunks! This flyer shares more information on the process to provide students nutritious lunch options they will enjoy. Students can fill their tray and take as much as they will eat. When talking with your student about their lunch options, you may want to watch this video and talk about things they may enjoy. Also encourage them to try new things but take what they will eat so we are not wasting a lot of food. We are excited about our new food options for students and expect an uptick in participation as this rolls out. Preparing your students ahead of time will help us. Teachers will also work to help students understand the new process of selecting and buying lunch.
