Churchill Chatter - Issue 16, March 31, 2023
Dear Churchill Road Families,
It has been a busy month. We had our 6th grade Philadelphia field trip this week! Many thanks to the staff and families for the organization and support.
We also enjoyed our Principals for a Day - Andrew, Olivia and Reilly - who used their administrative skills to help with arrival and dismissal, lunch supervision, and helping make some important decisions. Below you will find some pictures from their experience!
Our upcoming Kindergarten Orientation is on April 13, from 2-3 p.m. Please share this information with your friends and neighbors, so we have a better understanding of numbers for our in-coming Kindergarten program!

Last Call for Parent Input for 2023-2024
Churchill Road families may assist in the student placement process for 2023-2024 by sharing insights. Please note the following when providing information. We do not accept requests for specific teachers for the upcoming grade placement. This includes hints that reference specific teachers. We cannot guarantee friend requests nor exceptions for other students whereby there may be a conflict. We do our best to create a positive learning year for your child.
Please provide your input by submitting this form as it will ensure we have your request. Please do not email us additional information. Completion of the form is optional: however, the deadline for any correspondence is 4 p.m. today, March 31, 2023. Thank you for your input.
Spring Break Reminder
As a reminder, Churchill Road and our office will be closed Monday, April 3, to Friday, April 7. This will give our students, staff and office staff a well-deserved holiday. Students will return to school on Monday, April 10. Have fun and relax!

Principals for a Day 2023
We so enjoyed working with our Principals for a Day, Olivia, Andrew and Reilly. Each of our principals had many opportunities to assist with administrative duties. The principals assisted with arrival and dismissal at Kiss and Ride, buses, and helped with morning announcements. Among their many duties were helping with school tours, assisting in PE, helping students with projects, reading to students and providing constructive feedback to Mrs. Pierson-Barr. They even got to host a business lunch with peers in the principal's office!
We cannot thank them and their families enough for their willingness and enthusiasm in supporting Churchill Road.

All County Chorus
 Congratulations to sixth graders Emily H. and Caitlyn P.! They participated in the FCPS All County Choral Festival this past weekend at Lake Braddock Secondary School. They performed in a fantastic concert with over 600 sixth grade students from across Fairfax County. Great job, singers!
Kindergarten Orientation is April 13 from 2-3 PM
When you register your student, you will be added to our email distribution list for rising kindergarten parents. We will contact you with information about a Kindergarten Orientation. Kindergarten Orientation will be held on Thursday, April 13 from 2-3 p.m. Please contact Angie Kim if you would like to be added to the list.
If you would like to register your child, begin your Kindergarten and New Student Registration today or sign up here to schedule an appointment!
