The Fairfax High School PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association) is looking for parents to serve on the Board during the 2023 - 2024 school year. You will be surrounded by community members who are engaged in all aspects of Fairfax High School.
Positions available include: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Hospitality and Web Master.
Meetings are currently on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Everyone welcome, no previous experience necessary.
Please contact the nominating committee at Susan@skares.com if you are interested or want to find out more information.
Parent & Student Volunteers Needed This Saturday!
Each year the Northern Virginia International Plastic Modelers Society holds their Modelers Classic at FHS. The All Night Grad Committee provides concessions to fundraise for the Class of ’23 celebration- this is the last fundraiser of the year! You can help in 2 ways:
- Donate food and beverage items to be sold at the event and/or
- Volunteer to setup concessions and assist vendors on the 4/14 school holiday, staff the concessions stand on Saturday 4/15 and break down/clean up after the event.
Sign up here to support our FHS seniors! Modelers Classic Volunteer SignUp.
Please drop off donations (labeled ANG!) in the front office the week of April 10-14, delivering fresh foods on Friday afternoon between 3-5pm, if possible. Any unsold packaged snacks will be used by our counselors for students during Wellness Week April 24-28!
For additional volunteer opportunities that weekend click here: FHS: Plastic Modelers Volunteers.

ANG News
Graduation is just 2 months away! For those not aware, the All Night Grad celebration will be held at the St. James on the night of graduation and is open to all seniors. It is a 30+ year tradition, hosted by senior parents with support from the PTSA and is a great way to celebrate your seniors with their classmates in a safe environment.

Parent Volunteers Needed
Fairfax High School is seeking parent volunteers to help proctor the AP exams being administered May 1-18th. We have many opportunities available to give our students a great exam session. Email or sign up for a time you can work during the school day even if it’s not the whole session:

Please Note: You cannot proctor an AP exam that your student is scheduled to take and you cannot be in the same room with any family member.
If you have any questions, please email Leslie Trieu at latrieu@fcps.edu.
FHS Pyramid Night April 25
Parents, join us Tuesday, April 25 at 6:30 pm for an educational evening supporting student wellness and safety! A variety of seminars will be offered to support families of different ages. Topic options will include social media and online safety, police interactions and the Hidden in Plain Sight (HIPS) program. The event is free and open to any parent/guardian in our pyramid; preregistration is required for the HIPS group.
Hidden in Plain Sight: The bedroom of an average teenager can look like a well-planned illusion. The trick to seeing through an illusion is knowing what is used to create that illusion. We present a typical teenager's bedroom and discuss items and objects found there that could indicate risky behavior. A PowerPoint presentation will describe each prop and how that object could be a tool in a risky behavior.
The program is open to adult audiences ONLY and is a free ticketed event. Young people are not permitted in the program. This program is designed to educate parents on recent trends and to assist their child in finding the proper help if a risky behavior is detected. Register for the Hidden in Plain Sight program here: https://bit.ly/ffxhships23
