Please join us and come together to celebrate the diversity of our White Oaks Elementary School community with food and demonstrations from the cultures that make us White Oaks Strong!!

Lost and Found Items

The lost and found pile has grown quite large. Please encourage your child to check the lost and found pile next week to re-claim missing items. If you are attending Multicultural Night tonight, please take a moment to look for missing items. Any items remaining in the lost and found pile during Spring Break will be donated to a local charity.

Salad Bar Returning to WOES

Cafeteria Talks Ahead of Salad Bar

We have been hosting grade levels of students for Cafeteria Talks this week. Older White Oaks students were re-introduced to the salad bar rules and routines and students who have never had a salad bar in school were introduced to it for the first time. As a reminder the salad bar begins on Thursday, March 30th.

Students will first go through the salad bar to select any fruits and/or veggies before entering the hot service line. Only hot entrées will be available after the start of the salad bar and hot sides (like french fries, hot corn and green beans) will no longer be served. Students may take a whole salad with protein and a hot entrée for the price of one meal.

Beginning Thursday, please access the Elementary Lunch Plus Salad Bar menu via nutrislice for current menu options.

Interested in supporting in the cafeteria as students adjust to the salad bar? Sign up for a volunteer spot here.

The EDGE Experience: March 27-29

We are excited to share that The Edge Experience is coming to White Oaks next week!

Each class will participate in a one hour team building experience. This hands-on program will simultaneously engage students and allow them to learn about themselves, those around them, and our school. It is like an assembly and field day wrapped in one!

Students need to dress for the weather outside, bring a water bottle, wear closed-toe shoes (sneakers). If it is raining on the day your student’s class is scheduled to participate, the activity will be indoors.

Update Parent Information in WeCare

Update Your Emergency Care Information Through weCare@school

Fairfax County Public Schools provides weCare@school (weCare), an emergency care information system, to parents/caregivers who have registered for their own parent account. weCare helps manage emergency medical information by allowing parents to enter and update their children’s medical data online at their convenience. That contact information automatically enrolls parents/caregivers to receive eNotify communications from the district and their child’s school. eNotify is the communications tool for FCPS emergency, transportation, attendance, weather closings and delay, and essential outreach messages. Messages are sent via email, text, and occasionally phone.
