JOIN PTA for just $15: Sign up online
The PTA’s “Reading Under the Stars” main event on 3/10 was a truly magical evening for our students and families in celebration of National Reading Month! We had 8 Community Readers, including Fairfax County Fire & Rescue, Police Officers, local entrepreneurs from Two Girls Tutoring, a local counselor and CFES parent, Laura Waller, with her service dog, Moose, CFES Teacher, Ms. Strong, and our Principal, Ms. Drake! We also were honored to feature 2 published authors, eight year old, Sophia Blanco, who read her book, “Bookella”, and former CFES parent, Pat Tanumihardja, who read her book, “Ramen for Everyone”! The children also enjoyed participating in the meet & greet with the authors, arts & crafts, book raffle, interacting with storybook characters, and the Used Book Store. A HUGE THANKS to PTA volunteer, Jessica Eddy, who was the true visionary behind the event, PTA volunteer, Rob Needham, who spearheaded the CFES Reading Challenge Bingo, and to all of the volunteers, who donated their time before, during and after the event. We couldn’t have done it without you!
