Dear Annandale Terrace Families,
Please join me in welcoming Christopher Musgnug as our interim assistant principal. Mr. Musgnug is an experienced Assistant Principal from Kilmer Middle School. He brings a variety of instructional and leadership practices that will complement the work we already have in place in our school.
As interim assistant principal, he will work closely with the administration team to support all aspects of our school community. Mr. Musgnug will serve in this role at Annandale Terrace until we go through the process of hiring a new assistant principal. I am expecting Ms. Musgnug to be with us for about a month.
We are looking forward to having Mr. Musgnug join our school community!
Thank you,
Ingrid

On Monday, March 13, Annandale Terrace Elementary School parents/guardians will be contacted through email with a link to the FCPS Principal Evaluation Parent/Guardian Feedback Form Online. This questionnaire is part of the Performance Evaluation Program and offers parents/guardians an opportunity to provide anonymous input about various topics related to our school. These topics include instructional leadership, school climate, management (human resources and organizational), communication and community relations, culturally responsive and equitable leadership, and professionalism.
The questionnaire will be collected online between March 13 and March 24. When you receive an email from FCPS Surveys, please take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire. Your opinions matter!
Thank you,
Ingrid
Attending kindergarten provides children with an opportunity to learn and practice the essential social, emotional, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills they will use throughout their lives. Fairfax County public schools typically conduct kindergarten registration events—including orientation—in the Spring during March or April. Eligible children can also be registered throughout the summer, but registering your child early helps schools prepare and ensure they have the teachers and resources on hand that they need on the first day of school.
After determining which school their child will attend, families should prepare for registration by gathering documents and completing forms, details can be found on the FCPS kindergarten registration webpage. FCPS offers support and resources for all families to help with registration and the transition to kindergarten. For support in other languages, visit the kindergarten registration webpage.
Do you or someone you know have a child, that will be 5 years old, on or before September 30, 2023? If so, please join us for the 2023-2024 Kindergarten Orientation. During this event, families will have the opportunity to meet the Kindergarten teachers, administrators and other school staff while getting a glimpse of a day in Kindergarten classrooms. We look forward to you joining us!
Kindergarten Orientation will be held on April 13, 2023 from 2:30-3:30pm in the gymnasium of Annandale Terrace Elementary School.
Virginia law, Section 22.1-254, requires that children who will reach their fifth birthday on or before September 30, 2023, must be enrolled in Kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year unless the parent or guardian notifies the school in writing that they do not wish the child to attend school until the following year. In preparation of 2023-2024 Kindergarten enrollment, please complete the Survey of Preschool Children prior to March 31st, 2023. The IT-112, Survey of Preschool Children is also available on the FCPS internet, which includes 7 translated versions following the English version. Please contact the school office if you would like to have a hard copy.
If you know anyone who has a child who will be 5 by September 30th, 2023, please pass this information along to them.
