Welcome Mr. Pratt!!

Mr. Pratt holds a Bachelor of Arts from Davidson College, a Master of Education in Elementary Education from George Washington University, and an Administration and Supervision Certificate from George Mason University. Mr. Pratt has 5 years of experience serving as the assistant principal of Mason Crest Elementary School and Annandale Terrace Elementary School. Mr. Pratt has over 16 years of elementary school experience with Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS). He began his career as a fifth-grade teacher at Riverside ES in 2006.

Currently, Mr. Pratt serves as the Assistant Principal of Annandale Terrace Elementary School. During his time at Annandale Terrace, Mr. Pratt has led the work of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), collaborated on the development of the School Innovation and Improvement Plan (SIIP), supported teams on the implementation of the Equitable Access to Literacy (EAL) Plan, and led equity work related to culturally responsive teaching.

The majority of Mr. Pratt’s administrative experience has been at Mason Crest Elementary School. Mr. Pratt served as an Assistant Principal for five years at Mason Crest. During his time there he led and coached the work of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), led the Guiding Coalition Leadership Team, developed Title 1 and ESSER budgets, and revised the schoolwide Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and behavior support plan which resulted in a 74% decrease in office referrals. Additionally, he led an Equity in Math task force aimed at increasing advanced math opportunities for all students and was a member of the Equity Team as a part of the FCPS Mentoring for Equity Cohort.

In addition to his administrative experiences, Mr. Pratt has served the district in various capacities. He currently serves as a Strategic Plan Table Facilitator for the Alignment Team and has served as a member of the planning committee for the Region 2 PLC Institute. Mr. Pratt has also served on summer curriculum development work groups for Language Arts. He has led various professional development sessions for his assigned schools, for the School Based Administration Induction Program, for the Lead Level IV AAP team, and for the George Washington University Master’s Elementary Education Program.

Outside of school, Mr. Pratt enjoys running, biking, playing soccer, and cheering for all the Washington D.C. sports teams. But most of all, Mr. Pratt enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife, Corrie, and three sons, Jack (8), Thomas (6), and Henry (3). Please join me in welcoming Mr. Andrew Pratt as the new principal of Providence Elementary School!  He starts his new position on March 15th.
