The last few weeks have been full of hard work and excitement around the Annandale fields and courts in preparation for Monday's start to the regular season. Leading off will be our varsity baseball team who will head out to Rock Ridge on Monday for a 6 pm first pitch! After that things pick up quickly so be sure to check out the full schedule at annandaleatoms.net. Off the fields and in the building, things have been just as busy. Thursday we had our FanQuest pep rally and celebrated our Unified Basketball team and then Friday some of our most talented students showed off their dance moves while proudly sharing their diverse cultures during our Heritage Night. The spring has already be full of excitement and we're only just getting started!
Go Atoms!
Annandale Unified Basketball
On Thursday Atom Nation had it's annual Fan Quest pep rally during which we recognized our senior Unified Basketball players and had a great contest against the Lewis High School team. This is one of the most exciting events of the year and definitely something that we look forward to every year. A special thanks to Coaches Jae Lee and Janan Gokturk as well as Principal DeRose who earned the privilege of receiving a pie, courtesy of the team!

BASEBALL, Chris Bagot
The Varsity Atoms completed their scrimmages against Osbourn and Alexandria City. Next week brings the start of the season with 3 games against Rock Ridge, National District foe Hayfield, and Luray.
The JV completed their scrimmages against Mt. Vernon and Alexandria City. They have their first game next week against Hayfield.
GIRLS LACROSSE, Cindy Hook
The Girls Lacrosse teams have played well in our 2 scrimmages and are looking forward to playing our first games at Alexandria City on Friday, 2 more for Varsity on Saturday at our ATOMS Classic Tournament, and then JV and Varsity play Osbourn at home on Monday—come out and support ATOMS GLax--GO ATOMS!
GIRLS TENNIS, Kelly Brown
The Girls Tennis team is starting the year strong with over 30 freshmen on the developmental team! We lost our first scrimmage to West Potomac, but the score didn't reflect the many very close and competitive matches played. Looking forward to beginning the season next week with our first match vs Lewis!
TRACK, Phil Harris
We celebrated our winter track athletes this past week as well as our seniors. The Spring Track season is in full swing. We are preparing for the first meet of the season next Wednesday against Mt Vernon. The team has a few athletes recovering from injuries but are primed to have a great outdoor season. Keira Dalrymple, Noah Williams, Miles Lanham, and Pamela Moura, Ta’Niyah Peterkin, and Maximo Krause should have breaks out seasons.”

Supporting Orchestra - Benevity
PLEASE check your corporate policies, many companies filter donations for employees through an entity called Benevity. ANNANDALE HIGH SCHOOL ORCHESTRA BOOSTERS is now registered with Benevity.
Benevity is a company that can help turn your volunteer hours into Donations for Orchestra!!! Please check with your corporate HR to see if your company uses Benevity. If your company does use Benevity, they may either match donations you make to the Orchestra Boosters, or you may simply need to record hours that you participate in orchestra events and your company may provide money to the Orchestra Boosters. (Some companies TRIPLE donations to charities made through Benevity and others offer a certain dollar amount of donation for time you're already spending participating in Orchestra events)
We know that Google, Visa, UPS, Starbucks, Booz Allen Hamilton, Microsoft and Netflix offer these options, but many mor in the area may as well.
Athletic Training Wrap
Our Athletic Trainers, Ryan Hughes and Kathy Ayers, work really hard behind the scenes of our Athletic events and they would like to share some tips and advice they give the student-athletes at Annandale High School everyday.
