March Mathness!

Lace up those sneakers -- it’s time for March Mathness!!!  No, not the NCAA March Madness basketball tournament, but ST Math March Mathness!  Homeroom classes will be challenged to work together as a team to complete as many ST Math puzzles as they can.  ST Math is a unique problem-solving application that has no written directions.  Students ask themselves what they notice and wonder about the environment and various tools in the puzzle and apply their mathematical content knowledge to figure out how to solve the problem.  Some games will be easy and some games will be hard, but as Gators, we are always ready for a challenge!  Winners will be selected from winning classrooms from each round, the MVP classrooms at each grade level, classes with the most puzzles outside of the bracket and Most Improved classes. ST Math is not required at home, but support your child in their problem solving as they rack up more puzzle points for their homeroom. Let’s gear up for March Mathness, Kings Glen!

PE bicycle unit

Bicycle Unit in P.E.

  March 13-31

Between March 13- March 31, our Kings Glen students will be participating in a bicycle unit in PE!  All students who own a bicycle helmet are encouraged to bring it to PE each time during the unit. There will be helmets provided during this unit for those who need one.

IMPORTANT:  Due to safety concerns, students wearing open toe shoes (INCLUDING CROCS!) will not be able to participate in the biking unit. However, space will be provided for students who would like to keep a pair of shoes in the gym to ensure they have an alternate pair of shoes. Thanks again!
