✏️PTA Meeting

Please join the PTA for their monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 21 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held virtually via Zoom.


🍎Kindergarten Orientation for 23-24 School Year

Kindergarten Orientation for the 2023-24 school year will be on April 13th at 3:00 p.m. (Please note the new day and time).

This is a great opportunity to meet our principal, Dr. Aste, and our two assistant principals, Dr. Jenny Smith and Mr. Mike King, who will provide an overview of the Kindergarten program. You are invited to bring your rising kindergartners with you as they will have an opportunity to play in a kindergarten classroom while you are enjoying the presentation. We will also have staff available if you wish to complete your registration after the presentation.

Please share this information with friends and neighbors who have a rising kindergarten student.

🏷️PTA Yard Sale

The PTA will be hosting a Yard Sale on Saturday, March 25th from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m in the Mosaic ES cafeteria. Donations of children’s clothing, housewares, furniture, bikes, toys can be dropped off in the cafeteria on Friday, March 24th from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. 

Sign up to volunteer on either Friday or Saturday!

All proceeds from the sale will benefit the PTA.

Starting Monday, 3/20 ALL Lost & Found items will be available in the cafeteria for one last search before they become part of the yard sale donations.

Please encourage your kids to look for lost items before or after lunch, or you can visit the cafeteria anytime after checking in at the front office. 


🔬Einstein Night Sign-Up

Einstein Night is coming up on Thursday, April 27th from 6:30-8:00 PM at the Providence Community Center.

Einstein Night is the night that ALL students from Mosaic ES are invited to showcase a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math project of their choice. The event is free and open to all grade levels.

If you plan on presenting on Einstein Night, please register online at https://forms.gle/aWkmWeJUoASczpQU7. Teachers also have paper copies of the form available. All forms are due March 24, 2023.  Once you have signed up, you will be given a design packet that will allow you to plan and explain your project in more detail.  We hope to see you there!

🧸Early Childhood and PreK Registration

Fairfax County Public Schools offers programs for the youngest learners through several programs: 

  • PreK is for students 3-4 years old whose parents meet income requirements. Space is limited, and priority is given to 4 year olds to help them prepare for kindergarten. 
  • Early Head Start is for infants, toddlers, and expectant mothers who meet income requirements. 
  • Early Literacy Programs and Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) work with parents to help prepare their children for school. 

Community liaisons are available to assist families with the registration process and answer any questions. For more information, visit the Early Childhood Registration webpage


♟️Chess Championship Success!

Congratulations to our Mustangs who competed along with 200 other local students at Cub Run Elementary School in this past weekend's Chess Tournament sponsored by Magnus Chess Academy. The following players represented Mosaic:

Kartik Angel

Ernest Daddio

Atlas Ekingen

Adith Jayachandran

Ethan Scott

Out of ten schools, Mosaic had the highest overall rating. Go Mustangs!


🎻SoCo Summer Strings

SoCo Summer Strings

 

SoCo Summer Strings (formally Stallion Summer Strings) is returning this summer! The camp will be hosted at South County Middle School from July 10th-21st from 8:30am-12:30pm, weekdays only. 

Camp is open to all rising 5th-9th grade students with at least one year of experience on the violin, viola, cello, or bass. Students will participate in two large ensemble rehearsals, an instrument-specific technique class, and a sectional each day.
