Did You Know...

Talking with your child about emotional topics, such as their mental health, can feel uncomfortable. This can be due to the stigma involved, lack of information or even fears of possible blame. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) offers helpful tips on reducing the stigma and how to have a healthy dialog on mental health.

Where: Langley High School Auditorium

What: Junior students and their parents/guardians are invited to join us for an informative panel discussion lead by college admission professionals.

Opportunity to Apply for Student Representative to the School Board

Each year, in accordance with FCPS Policy 1802, FCPS students have the opportunity to apply for the position of the student representative to the School Board.  The student representative is not a member of the School Board but serves in a nonvoting, advisory capacity, representing the interests of the students of Fairfax County Public Schools.

Students who are currently in grades 9, 10, and 11 are eligible to apply, and they do not need to be current members of the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council (SAC).

The application involves 2 components.  Both are required to be considered for the Election.

  • Written Applications are due March 17, 2023. 2023 Student Representative to the School Board
  • A thirty second candidate statement via Flip Video is due March 31, 2023. Candidates will be emailed a link to record their video on March 20, 2023.

The 2023 election will consist of two parts:

  • The first part of the Election is a virtual Primary Election held on April 17, 2023, using FCPS zoom. Candidates have the option to attend the Primary Election. Candidates will be notified by email regarding the Primary Election results.
  • The second part of the Election is a General Election held in person on April 19, 2023, at Thomas Jefferson High School. Candidates who advanced from the Primary Election are required to attend the General Election on April 19, 2023.

Additional information and details regarding both the Primary and General Elections will be shared with candidates.

Senior Information

LHS2023 Families,

As we approach the end of the school year, we want to make everyone aware of the senior activities leading up to graduation and All Night Graduation Party (ANGP).  We will be updating our two websites often.  So, check there for the latest information:

https://www.ptsalangley.org/class-of-2023

https://www.ptsalangley.org/angp

This year ANGP will be held at Oak Marr Recreation Center!!

We need YOUR help!  Please support our fundraising efforts!  So, our seniors can have a fun and safe graduation party!  Each year over 90% of our graduates attend (yes, even those who have never attended a school dance, sporting event, or musical event).  This will be their final event as a class and none of them will want to miss it!

Early Bird ANGP ticket sales start now!  Tickets are $75. Buy your ticket before prices go up on March 31st. When purchasing your ticket, don’t forget to support at least one of our three fundraisers - Congratulations Graduate Yard Signs, Limo Van/Priority Seating at Graduation, or Family Portrait Setting.  Here’s the link to buy tickets:

https://form.jotform.com/LangleyPTSA/angp-2023

We’re still looking for sponsors for the 2023 ANGP. If you know of any local businesses or corporations that would like to contribute to our fundraiser, please have them contact Brenda Beeland, at brbb@cox.net

For more information about the All Night Grad Party, Graduation and other Senior Events, please join us at our next Senior Parent Forum on March 28th from9:30-11:00am in the LHS Lecture Hall (Room 2600, park in back bus lot, enter via Door 9).
