Calendar Reminder graphic

Important Reminder:

There is no school for students tomorrow, March 3rd as our teachers engage in a school planning day. We will see our pandas back on Monday, March 6th.

Dear GBW Families,

We have had some really cool things happen this week! Our Panda Pause room is finally open for business. This room is open  to all students that may need to take a break during the day. Check out GBW Happenings to see what it looks like. Our 3rd graders presented projects they have been working on about Ancient Cultures.

We are also pleased to announce that GBW will be reading Pie by Sarah Weeks for our One School, One Book program.  All students will be coming home today with a copy of the book.  Each student will also be given a family reading schedule that begins on Monday the 6th. If it is more convenient for your family, we will be offering a Live Storytime With a Teacher each night at 7:30 PM. Check out our schedule of nightly readers and to find a link to the Schoology course to access the Zoom session.

To help us kick off this program, we hosted a student assembly today to get students excited about reading our book!  Please be on the lookout for the book and the family reading assignments.

We hope you enjoy the book, and if you have any questions about the book or this program please feel free to reach out to one of us.

Hospitality Committee Meeting

As we look forward to celebrating our teachers in May, we need several people to volunteer to make our Teacher Appreciation Week a great week for GBW teachers.  If you are interested in coordinating food donations, setting up fun displays that week in the staff lounge, or contributing ideas to make the week a success, please reach out to  GreenbriarWestPTA@gmail.com.  We hope to have a planning meeting sometime in the next two weeks.

Call for Nominating Committee Members!

At the next PTA meeting on March 16, we will need to elect at least 3 PTA members for our nomination committee.  The nomination committee looks to find individuals who are ready and willing to lead the PTA in the roles of President, Vice Presidents, Secretary, and Treasurer for next school year.  The members elected to the nominating committee will need to arrange a few meetings to ensure that we have a full slate of candidates to present at the April meeting and then to vote on at the May meeting.  If you are interested or have any questions, please contact GreenbriarWestPTA@gmail.com.
