Dear Rocky Run Families and Students,
In the spring of 2016, I was lucky enough to be selected to join the Rocky Run MS school community to serve as your principal. For the past seven years it has been my joy to learn and grow alongside the outstanding professionals, students, and families that make up our school. Tomorrow, March 1, I begin a new role as principal of Chantilly High School. It is with great excitement that I embrace this next stage in my learning journey as an educator and I am energized to continue to serve the students of the Chantilly pyramid, as I have for the past 17 years as the principal of both Rocky Run MS and Oak Hill ES. Leaving Rocky Run MS is bittersweet, and I am grateful for the trust you have placed in me, the strong connections we have made, and the many accomplishments we have shared together as a community. I know that I am a better leader and person because of our work together and I am grateful to be able to continue to collaborate with many you as we support our students’ success through high school.
At Rocky Run MS we have worked tirelessly to foster student and family engagement, close achievement gaps, and elevate student voice. Our vision that Together WE create opportunities for growth and positive impact has been grounded in collaboration and our commitment to ensuring Rocky Run MS is a welcoming, challenging and supportive community for all. I am confident this work will continue long into the future with new leadership and the ongoing commitment of the Rocky Run MS community. I know our students will continue to Raise the Ram in all that they do and I look forward to following their accomplishments into the future.
It truly has been a privilege to serve as your principal and Rocky Run will forever be in my heart.
Sincerely,
Amy Goodloe
