Message from Dr. Floyd
Dear Woodson Community:
Hello March! In only three months our seniors will be graduates! As we progress through the spring, please help us help students to stay focused and safe.
We have been discussing safety a lot in the school lately. What exactly does it mean to be safe? Physical safety, emotional safety, mental safety… all required for our students to succeed.
Our staff and students are well versed in the physical safety practices but we struggle with some of the more emotional and mental safety pieces. Mental health first aid is coming up and it is one way to help students, staff and parents help one another feel mentally safe. There are still some slots for students to register.
We celebrated International Night last Friday. It was a huge success! Thank you to everyone involved to make the event a safe space for students, staff, and families from many backgrounds to come celebrate our cultures.
At Woodson, we seek inclusion, we seek to understand and celebrate differences. There is no place for hate, racism, antisemitism or disrespect. Let us not require an event to remember this imperative need of safety for all in our community. Thank you to all who brought us “iNite” and let’s continue to pass the message forward.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Dr. Floyd Principal
