Talking Points

Be on the lookout for an invite to use Talking Points, a new FCPS-approved communication app. Families have three easy ways to use Talking Points and to communicate with their children’s’ teachers for free! You can use text messaging, download the separate app, or you can use it on the web.

6th Grade

 Save These Dates!

  6th Grade End of Year Celebration

The 6th Grade End of Year Celebration will be held on Wednesday, June 14 during the school day! 6th grade families are asked to contribute $10 towards the themed t-shirts and $10 towards the party expenses, both payable via MySchoolBucks. Stay  tuned for more information!  Please contact Ellena Talbott with questions.

6th Grade Promotion Ceremony

The 6th Grade Promotion Ceremony will be the morning of Thursday June, 15th with details to come later.


7th Grade Immunizations Requirement Notice

All students entering 7th grade will be required to receive one dose of each of the following immunizations prior to the beginning of school: Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis booster (Tdap), Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY) and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.

  • To meet the Meningococcal (MenACWY) requirement, the vaccination must be administered at age 10 or older.      
  • As a parent/guardian, you may decide that your child not receive the HPV vaccination. The school does not require documentation if a parent/guardian elects for their student not to receive the HPV vaccination.

ACTION REQUESTED: Please provide one of the following immunization documents to Chris Kamerow, KG Registrar, as soon as possible:

An immunization record showing that the child has received at least one dose of each of the required immunizations listed above.

  1. A note on a healthcare provider’s letterhead stating the date the vaccine(s) was given.
  2. A healthcare provider’s written statement of a permanent or temporary medical exemption.
  3. A notarized Religious Exemption Form, which is available online at: https://bit.ly/VDOEReligiousExemptionForm

Thanks to everyone that has volunteered their time already!  We are still looking for a couple people to volunteer for various positions for the 2022-23 school year, and also have positions for next school year that require advance planning.  Please consider stepping up to make these initiatives happen.  More information here.
