This week for National CTE Month our feature is our Trade and Industry student pathway. This pathway encompasses a variety of courses that include Auto Tech, Auto Collision, Carpentry, Cosmetology, and Criminal Justice. Trade and Industry Education provides preparation for entry into skilled trades and service occupations that involve designing, producing, processing, assembling, maintaining, servicing, or repairing any product or commodity. Specialized training includes job shadowing, internships, and on-the-job training in all program areas. Industry-recognized certifications and licensure, internships, and college credit are available for many students. Classroom experiences are enhanced through high-tech lab activities.
This week we would like to highlight our Auto Technology course. This program enables students to have hands on experience learning about the major systems of the automobile with emphasis on lab safety, tool usage, and equipment operations. Students perform a variety of tasks on general automotive maintenance, brakes, steering and suspension, electrical and electronic systems, engine performance and engine repair. Be sure to check out the Auto Tech program site to see student videos! This week our Level 1 students demonstrated their mastery by teaching others!
Criminal Justice students spend the day at the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy for some specialized training and demonstrations
Cosmetology students show off their natural hair care talents!
When it is beautiful outside in February, a friendly game of tug of war is a great way to demonstrate team work!
Registration is Open for the 2023 Teen Job Fair which will be held at Chantilly High School
In recent days we have had an increased number of reports of students driving to CHS/Chantilly Academy that do not have parking privileges with us. We want to remind all students and parent/guardians, that students MUST take the shuttles provided by FCPS from base schools to Chantilly Academy and to not drive here without a Chantilly Academy parking pass. Students with parking privileges/passes through their base schools do NOT have permission to park at CHS/Chantilly Academy. Students without FCPS transportation from their base schools should already have a Chantilly Academy parking pass. If you have special circumstances that require you to drive, please stop by the Academy office and complete a parking application.
Chantilly HS has limited parking available and therefore ALL parking spaces are assigned. There are designated areas for visitors and guests but they are strictly to be used for that purpose only.
Students that drive here without parking privileges will be ticketed and these fines must be paid prior to graduation. The price of the tickets could increase depending on the number of tickets received.
