Cursive Club
Ms. Parker, Room 414B
Tuesdays, A and B Session (students can sign up for one or both)
Let’s put pen to paper and have some fun! Join this session every week to learn how to write in cursive. Even if you think your handwriting is AWFUL, learning cursive will help you IMPROVE! Cursive writing engages your brain on a deeper level as you learn to join letters in a continuous flow. It also helps to improve your speed of writing when taking notes. And wouldn’t it be nice to sign your name the same way that John Hancock signed the Declaration of Independence – fancy!
LJ After Hours... on Fridays!
We do have after-school available on Fridays. Students can choose between Open Gym and Library Study Hall. There are NO LATE BUSES on Fridays, and parents need to pick students up BY 4:00PM.
Luther Jackson will be busy this summer, hosting Middle School VIP Camp as well as our rising 7th grade "How to Survive Middle School" program. Click on the image below for more information. VIP Camp registration is not open yet, but you can fill out an interest form so that you will have the registration form emailed directly to you when we're ready to start! (look for registration forms around March 20th!)
A couple of notes:
-
VIP Camp is only for rising 7th and 8th graders. In the past, we have accepted rising 9th graders if we had room, but that is not the case this year, per county-wide policy.
-
Rising 9th graders can attend "Teens in Action" camp at one of the NCS Teen Centers... we will share information about their programs as soon as it becomes available.
-
IMAGINE is the only academic programming for LJMS students this summer, and it is being run out of Poe MS. We will share the registration form as soon as it becomes available.
-
Jaguar Jumpstart is no longer being managed by LJMS staff. Falls Church HS is working on a plan to continue that program, and I will pass along any information as we receive it.
