Mrs. Bendu Jackson, author of Will you Still Love Me?, visited Eagle View and read to our K-1 students. Mrs. Bendu Jackson is our own Ms. Jackson's mother!
Hello Eagle View Families!
It has been a very fun Read Across America week at Eagle View! We had EV Bedtime Stories all week and wrapped up our Read Across America Week with a special author visit and a character dress-up day! Mrs. Bendu Jackson, author of Will You Still Love Me?, visited Eagle View and read her book to our students. We are also proud to share with you that Mrs. Bendu Jackson is a proud Kindergarten teacher at one of the FCPS schools and a mother to our very own Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Jackson!

Did you know? Regular school attendance in elementary school improves the chances that your child will read on grade level.
As part of our Eagle View attendance policy, we want to remind families that we allow 10 excused absences per school year; after those 10 excused absences, we require a doctor’s note: otherwise, the absence will be marked as unexcused.
Linked here is the recording from our virtual parent workshop Raising Resilience: How to Teach Children to Face Life's Inevitable Challenges hosted by Rachel Bailey earlier this week.
FCPS Early Childhood and PreK Programs
Fairfax County Public Schools offers programs for the youngest learners:
Community liaisons are available to assist families with the registration process and answer any questions. For more information, visit the Early Childhood Registration webpage.
The FCPS Trust Policy supports a continued commitment to foster a caring culture and strives to provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for all students and families in our schools. The policy ensures that FCPS students and families can access FCPS benefits and services without fear that information will be disclosed, directly or indirectly, to federal immigration officials.
Next week, FCPS will be seeking your feedback on the school division’s progress with developing our new Strategic Plan. Since last fall, thousands of students, staff, families, and community members have contributed to the strategic planning process by participating in focus groups, planning teams, community forums, and surveys. Parents/caregivers and community members will be invited to provide feedback on the work that’s been done thus far by completing a survey. Your input will help us know whether we are headed in the right direction—one that will help ensure a thriving future for every FCPS student.
Please keep an eye out for the survey link starting early next week. Visit our Strategic Planning webpage for more details.
Join Springfield District Representative Laura Jane Cohen, Braddock District Representative Megan McLaughlin, FCPS Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid, and Student Representative to the School Board Michele Togbe for a town hall. The FCPS CARES Program is an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story, so we can all acknowledge the good work of FCPS employees, specifically at Eagle View ES. |
We are honored to work with you this year and will work every day to ensure a safe and positive learning environment for your child. We can't do it alone. Please contact us if there is anything we can do to further support your child's learning and experience at Eagle View. We are here to listen and partner with you to help your child have a successful school year!
