On Friday, February 24, we will be participating in “Crossfield Gives Back"— a day of giving where all students will prepare, sort and pack 550 weekend food packs of snacks and meals for food insecure students across Fairfax County. These packs will be distributed by Food for Others.
Over the next few weeks, our 6th graders will be sharing information on food insecurity through poster campaigns and on the WCES morning news. Students in grades K-3 will also have grade-appropriate lessons where they will learn about poverty and food insecurity.
We are asking for the help of our Crossfield Community in providing food for these packs (oatmeal, granola bars, etc). You can sign up to donate food and to help our students with their day of giving here:
https://www.crossfieldpto.org/2023/01/02/crossfield-gives-back-food-packing-event/
Please share this link for food donations far and wide (neighborhoods, churches, local friends and family). This is an ambitious effort, but we know we can do it. Let’s show the love, Crossfield! Together, we can help fellow students in our community. For more information, contact CGB@crossfieldpto.org
