Annandale Student Services

Mentor program

Message from the Director:

Dear Atom Nation,

In the spirit of building connections across the Annandale Pyramid, we partnered with Columbia Elementary to build a mentor program that pairs their 5th grade students with some of our Annandale Atoms. Yesterday, our students were able to get a guided tour from their mentees of Columbia Elementary. It has been amazing to see the connections being formed between our students and we look forward to having these future Atoms!

This week is the last week of scheduled academic advising meetings with counselors. All course selections are due by Friday, February 24. Our counselors will be reaching out to students who either missed their appointment or have yet to select courses. Please reach out to our counselors if you have any questions.

Erik Healey

Director of Student Services

Register to Take the ASVAB: The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test measures a young adult’s strengths and weaknesses and provides feedback on potential for future career success. Students are encouraged to take the test because it is a valuable career assessment tool which can help identify which career is best for each student. Though the test is developed by the Department of Defense, it is not just for those going into the military. It’s a great start to finding the perfect career for students by highlighting those skills which students naturally have. To sign up for the ASVAB test you may go see your school counselor or contact your local recruiter, Staff Sergeant Meas at 703-424-8923.
