Black History Month
Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history. Learn more about the heritage months, celebrations, and traditions celebrated in FCPS. Learn more about Black History month. This month our very own student run KPOV News will feature and highlight famous Black and African American people.

FCPS CARES
The FCPS CARES Program is an opportunity for families, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story, so we can all acknowledge the good work of FCPS employees at Kings Park Elementary. We love our staff members; let's tell them how we feel!
KP/KG PTA News
After School Activities: We have another exciting lineup of after school activities for Spring, starting in March and April. Details about registration is coming soon on our PTA website and FB page.
Magnus Chess Academy, Yoga, Code Ninjas, Tiny Chefs cooking and Girls on the Run (for 3rd grade girls only)
We are looking for one more coach for Girls on the Run. If you are interested in volunteering to coach, please email Britta at Educomm@kpkgpta.org
InCourage Parent’s Night Out (Spirit Night) is coming up on Friday, February 24th from 6:30-8:30 pm. See the flier for more information.
SkyZone Spirit Day is coming up on March 2nd. Stay tuned for more information.
We’re still looking for candidates for the Nominating Committee. Each year the PTA elects a Nominating Committee to put forth a slate of candidates for the PTA's next executive board. The PTA plans to elect the nominating committee at our February 28 meeting. Are you interested in serving on this committee? Please contact PTA president, Charlotte Hannagan, at president@kpkgpta.org. Similarly, please reach out to Charlotte if you have any interest in serving on the 2023-2024 PTA board.

Event Lead/Captain Sign-Up. Thanks to everyone that has volunteered their time already! We are still looking for a couple people to volunteer for various positions for the 2022-23 school year, and also have positions for next school year that require advance planning. Please consider stepping up to make these initiatives happen. More information here.
