SCA Spirit Day- 100 Day of School

Monday, February 13th is the 100th day of school!! Show your school spirit by dressing like you are 100 years old or decorate your outfit or a poster with 100 small things. We can't wait to see your creativity!

Kindergarten Orientation

Save the date! Little Run Elementary's Kindergarten Orientation is scheduled for Friday, March 3, 2023 from 2:00pm-3:00pm.

If any of your neighbors have children who will be eligible for Kindergarten, please share this information.

Little Run’s Scholastic Book Fair

Student Preview Days: Monday, February 27th & Tuesday, February 28th  

Student Purchase Days: Wednesday, March 1st & Thursday, March 2nd

Book Fair Family Night: Tuesday, February 28th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Muffins in the Morning: Thursday, March 2nd This is a special invitation to join your child in the cafeteria from 8:00-8:20 a.m. for a muffin. You are then invited to attend the Book Fair for a special buying session from 8:20-8:50 a.m.

Children may bring a parent, guardian, or any special adult.

Guest Readers: Thursday, March 2nd from 9:00 to 9:30 In celebration of Read Across America Day, we’re looking for adult volunteers (e.g. parents/guardians/grandparents) to read a story in each classroom!

Volunteers Welcome! Go to the Volunteer Sign-ups here, if you’d like to help out with book fair shifts or be a guest reader.

 

In addition to payment by cash, credit card or check (payable to Little Run Elementary School), Scholastic is offering eWALLET.  Please note that there is a 6% tax for all purchases.

Scholastic will give back 25% in rewards to our school when you shop online during the Fair.


Magnet School Information Nights

Three FCPS elementary magnet schools provide programs that enhance learning in science, technology, and performing arts. 

Parents/caregivers interested in sending their students to an elementary magnet school program are encouraged to attend school-based information nights on Monday, February 13, at Hunters Woods Elementary School; Wednesday, February 15, at Bailey’s Primary School; and Thursday, February 16, at Bailey’s Upper Elementary School. Information nights will provide an opportunity to learn about individual school programs, student eligibility, the lottery process, and available transportation.

FCPS will be accepting applications for its elementary magnet school programs on Wednesday, March 1, through Wednesday, April 12, at 4 p.m. Get more information about parent information nights and the magnet school lottery, or on the schools, their programs, and locations.


Office of the Ombuds: At Your Service! 

Do you have questions or concerns about Fairfax County Public Schools? The Office of the Ombuds is an independent, impartial, informal, and confidential resource for employees, parents/caregivers, students, and/or community members. Staff in the office are eager to listen and assist with navigating the school division. They will also offer options and/or resources to help resolve challenges.
