SAT/ACT Spring Testing

Students who are planning to take a standardized test in the spring should review test dates and registration deadlines. Typically, students take a standardized test in the spring of their junior year and again in the fall before college application deadlines. Here is an SAT/ACT Comparison Chart

Students register for a test(s) through the College Board website (for the SAT) and/or through the ACT website (for the ACT). Students will create an account using their personal email address if they have not previously created an account. Be sure to check with your student to see if they have an account. The "School code" or CEEB Code for James Madison High School is 472-278.

Khan Academy, in collaboration with College Board, offers free, online courses, practice & lessons for the SAT. There is also free ACT test prep resources on the ACT website here

Tutor.com is a free, on-demand tutoring service that offers a range of resources that includes test prep for the SAT and the ACT. Practice quizzes are available and students can immediately connect to a live tutor through voice or chat options for help. Learn more on the FCPS Tutor.com website.

Check individual college websites for updates to their testing policies. Fairtest.org has a list of test optional colleges/universities, but always verify the information with each college.
