Random Acts of Kindness Week
In honor of Random Acts of Kindness Week, February 13 – 17 Brookfield will host a Kindness Bingo challenge and Spirit Week. Random Acts of Kindness Week is an opportunity for students to focus on how spreading kindness makes the world a happier place. Students who get Bingo by completing activities to fill a row or column will receive a prize at the end of the week. Students can also participate in a Spirit Week led by Brookfield’s SCA.
Bingo sheets will be passed out to students on Monday, February 13th by their homeroom teacher. If you have any questions about Random Acts of Kindness Week please reach out to Mrs. Evans or Mrs. Lonnett, Brookfield’s School Counselors.
Filling Your Child’s Emotional Bank Account
Read the latest Healthy Minds blog to understand why relationships are like savings accounts, and how you can help build trust and security with your children.
Low-Cost Internet for Free and Reduced-Price Eligible Students
The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a new Federal Communications Commission (FCC) program to lower internet costs for families with children who have been eligible for free or reduced-price meals within the last 12 months. A qualifying household will receive $30 per month toward internet services and a one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet. Families can check their eligibility and register at AffordableConnectivity.gov or by calling 877-384-2575.
Brookfield's Doors Open at 7:55 a.m.
As a reminder, we do not have supervision for students who arrive at school earlier than 7:55 a.m. Additionally, with the colder weather, we do not want your students to be waiting outside longer than necessary.
Please adjust your morning schedules accordingly- your cooperation is appreciated!
Bronco Block
Students in grades 3-6 listened to Grandma Mims share African-American Folktales including "Anansi" and "Who's Got My Money?" All the grades were given a chance to act it out as well- there was no shortage of volunteers!
Science Fair!
Get your scientists ready for the Brookfield Science Fair!
The Fair will take place on Thursday March 9th and is a great opportunity for your student to work through the scientific process and share their ideas with the school. All Brookfield students K through 6 are eligible to submit an entry either by themselves or with a friend or two (maximum size of group is 3 students).
