Hello Scottie Families!
We have had a great full week of learning at Bonnie Brae, and we are already looking forward to next Friday, February 10, when the PTO will host the “Through the Decades VIP Dance Party”! Be sure to check out the information below about this special event.
While we have had a somewhat mild winter, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow on Groundhog Day yesterday, and he has predicted six more weeks of winter. This is a good reminder to keep an eye on the weather and to send your children to school with warm clothing and a coat for the chilly days ahead.
Stay warm tonight and this weekend! Enjoy the time as a family, Scotties, and we will see you on Monday!

February Webinars and Events for Parents

Tutor.com - Extra Help for Students at No Cost to Families
With Tutor.com through Schoology, FCPS students are able to get learning help at any time, even from bilingual tutors! Students in FCPS meet with tutors thousands of times each week to practice reading, prepare for an upcoming math test, write computer programs, study for the SAT, or to get feedback on scholarship essays–all at no cost to their families! If you haven’t already, we encourage you to take just a few minutes to connect with a tutor with your child. More info about Tutor.com in FCPS is available here.
Club and Candid Picture Day Reminder
Just a reminder that tomorrow is Bonnie Brae’s Club and Candid Picture Day. Please remind your children to listen for their specific clubs and/or groups when they are announced. Also, all patrols need to remember to bring and wear their belts. Patrols without belts will not be photographed. Remember - Club and Candid Picture Day happens only one time during the school year.

Valentine's Day Lunch
We are excited to invite Bonnie Brae families in for lunch on Valentine’s Day, February 14! Parents and guardians are invited to attend lunch during their child’s lunch period, as we celebrate the Positivity Project character strength of Love the week of February 13-17. Students will be able to purchase lunch from the cafeteria on February 14, and while we do not have enough for parents to purchase from Bonnie Brae, we encourage any family members who attend to bring a lunch to eat with their child (family members can also bring a lunch in this day for their child if they wish as well!).
Interested in attending lunch with your child on Valentine’s Day and spreading the “love”? Be sure to complete this form to let us know you will be attending, so that we will have enough seats available for everyone. Additionally, if you would like to volunteer to support before, during, or after lunch on February 14, please email the PTO at secretary@bonniebraepto.org and president@bonniebraepto.org to let them know you can help!
