Raccoon Runners Spring 2023
The Raccoon Runners will be back on the track this Spring! Registration will begin February 1 at 8 AM. While we would love to accommodate everyone who wants to participate, we need to keep the number at 50 runners to ensure everyone has a positive and safe experience. Experience has taught us that there is such a thing as too many 3-6 graders running through the streets of Mantua! The program WILL fill up in under 20 minutes, so set a reminder now!
Mantua ES’s Raccoon Runners is a positive youth development program for third through sixth graders, empowering them to be true to themselves through lessons in positive body image, health and nutrition and social awareness. Raccoon Runners are strengthened over a 9-week period through various fitness activities while training for the annual Raccoon Run at Mantua Elementary School in May. Runners will meet Tuesday and Friday mornings 8:00-9:00 AM at the Mantua gym from March 14 through May 12.
Registration is $80 and includes a t-shirt, snacks after each practice, and race registration for your runner.

Spring 2023 Enrichment Registration Is Almost Here!
Mantua PTA, in partnership with Baroody Camps, is pleased to offer another exciting selection of Enrichment classes this Spring! The schedule is nearly finalized and will be published soon! Registration will run from 9AM on February 14th through midnight on February 22nd. Classes will begin March 6th and end either May 4th or May 11th. Stay tuned for details.

Mantua Enrichment Job Opportunity - Paid Position!
Are you able to offer some time after school to help manage our Enrichment program? Could you make some time if we offered you a FREE Enrichment class for your child AND paid you $37.50 per shift?
Mantua PTA in partnership with Baroody Camps is looking for an on-site coordinator to help our Enrichment program progress from "great" to "excellent"! We are in need of assistance from 3:45PM-5:20PM Monday-Thursday. Classes run March 6th through May 11th. The position may be split between two individuals if preferred! It is an easy job with great benefits!

The Fairfax County Council PTA announced their finalists!
Congratulations to the following Mantua students whose Reflections entries earned Outstanding Interpretation Award, Award of Excellence, and Award of Merit at the Fairfax County Council level.

Volunteer Needed for Nominating Committee
The PTA is in need of one additional volunteer to serve on this year's nominating committee. This committee is tasked with finding nominees for the executive board and other committee chairpersons for the 2023-24 school year. Three people serve on this committee from now until the slate of officers is voted on in May. If you're willing to help with this important, short-term role, please contact president@mantuapta.org.

Kids Give Back Volunteer Day, March 3rd
Kids Give Back is hosting a Volunteer Day for ages 6-12 on March 3, 2023 (FCPS closed) from 9AM-3PM. There will be a variety of fun service activities and lunch is included! See the flyer below for details and register at kidsgiveback.org/events.

Mantua proudly partners with Harris Teeter’s Together in Education program to help raise funds for our school. It’s easy and it’s FREE. Just link your VIC card and when you check out, Mantua will receive a percentage of your Harris Teer brand purchases credited back to our account. We do need to relink each calendar year, so if you have participated in the past, you will need to relink this year to continue earning rewards.
