PTSA News

  • We will resume our monthly PTSA meetings on Monday, February 6th at 6:30pm in the school library.
  • On Wednesday, January 25, the early release day at the end of the quarter, West Potomac High School will be hosting a Wellness Day for all students. The day will consist of opportunities for students to explore their wellness in a variety of ways. Teachers will be leading sessions focusing on creativity, community engagement, physical wellness, and strategies to nurture good mental health habits. There will be something for everyone! This is a big undertaking, and in order to help the day run smoothly the staff has requested parent volunteers to assist in some of the more involved sessions. There are also needs for donations to support the day and its events.
  • Please sign up to assist in person or by making a donation if you can. Thank you so very much for your continued support of the mighty mighty Wolverines.

Are you familiar with the multitude of career choices within the field of veterinary medicine? Veterinarians with specialties in wildlife and emergency and critical care will discuss their work and their educational and professional journeys. Plus, a surgical and ophthalmology veterinary nurse, who transitioned to veterinary equipment supply and sales, will share her experiences. SAT/ACT Test Prep Upcoming Events

Mock (Practice) Tests:

Walk-In registration for mocks ($28.00) available as space allows. Check should be payable to WPHS PTSA.

Why Take a Mock SAT or ACT?

  • Did you know that 54% of students show a natural increase the second time they take a real test? Use the mock to practice test time management skills – see if you have the ability to apply the content and strategies learned while studying when in an official test environment.  Test your mental endurance.  Earn confidence for the “real thing.”

Do You Know Your Test Preference?

  • Most students will show a strong preference for either the SAT or ACT format. This preference usually results in students naturally testing the SAT equivalent of 100 points higher on their preferred test. Sponsored by PTSA, mock tests are offered on campus to help students determine their preferred format and establish baseline test scores – not to mention the benefits of practice. Sophomores can make their junior year less hectic by determining test preference now! Juniors, get a little extra practice!
