January 25 Quarter End/Early Release
January 26-27 Teacher Work Days
As a reminder, Wednesday, January 25, is the last day of the quarter and a two-hour early release for students. K-6th grade will dismiss at 1:15pm, AM PS will dismiss at 11:00am, PM PS is cancelled, and PAC will dismiss at 1:30pm.
School is closed for students on Thursday, January 26 and Friday, January 27, for teacher workdays. See the complete 2022-23 school year calendar.
The GradeBook and Report Card modules in ParentVUE and StudentVUE will be closed Wednesday, January 25, at 4 p.m. until Monday, February 6, at 6 a.m. Progress Reports will go home in Tuesday Envelopes on February 7th.
SCA Spirit Day- 100 Day of School
Barring any snow days between now and then, February 13th will be the 100th day of school!! Show your school spirit by dressing like you are 100 years old or decorate your outfit or a poster with 100 small things. We can't wait to see your creativity!
Kiss n Ride Safety Reminder
To ensure the safety of our students and staff, we ask that parents stay in the Kiss n Ride line until it is your turn to exit. Please do not drive around another car.

Digital Consent
At Little Run, our teachers will use a variety of digital resources to support student learning and promote communication and collaboration with students and families. Some of the digital resources your child may use this year will require your consent before they can be used. You can find our school’s list of the resources that require parental consent here.
Included on this page is also a link to a form where the enrolling parent or guardian will need to indicate whether or not their student is allowed to use the list of digital resources this year. This page also provides more information about how FCPS carefully reviews digital resources for approval and why we must request your consent before using certain tools. We encourage you to complete the parental consent for digital resources form as soon as possible, as your child will not be able to use the digital resources until we have received your permission.

 Kindergarten Registration
If you have a child who will be five years old on or before September 30, 2023, please visit this website and submit the form.
If any of your neighbors have children who will be eligible for Kindergarten, please share this information with them, as we are especially interested in reaching those Little Run families who do not have children currently attending our school.

School Board Reviews Draft School Year Calendar Options
At their January 17 work session, the School Board discussed draft calendars that were created for the 2023-24, 2024-25, and 2025-26 school years. Draft calendars were developed using the following criteria as a framework:
- Federal, state, and Virginia Department of Education guidance.
- Superintendent’s priorities.
- School Board input.
- Student absentee data.
- Staff absentee data.
- Surrounding jurisdictions’ calendars.
- Survey results.
- Calendar Feedback Committee input.
You may view the draft calendars and other related documents in Boarddocs. The calendars will be presented as new business during the School Board meeting on Thursday, January 26. The Board is scheduled to vote on the calendars during their meeting on Thursday, February 9.
