Calendar Reminder!
As a reminder, Wednesday, January 25, is the last day of the quarter and a two-hour early release for students.
Schools are closed for students on Thursday, January 26, for a staff development day and Friday, Jan. 27, for a teacher workday.
2023-24 Kindergarten Survey
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We need your help in projecting the Kindergarten enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year. Virginia Law, section 22.1-254, requires that children who will reach their fifth birthday on or before September 30, 2023, must be enrolled in Kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year unless the parent or guardian notifies the school in writing that they do not wish the child to attend school until the following year.
If you have a child who will be five years old on or before September 30, 2023, please complete this form and return it no later than February 3, 2023. If any of your neighbors have children who will be eligible for Kindergarten, please share this information with them, as we are especially interested in reaching those Greenbriar West families who do not have children currently attending school.
The information on this survey will help the school plan for adequate facilities and personnel for the 2022-2023 school year. Please email the completed form to Patty Li at pli@fcps.edu. We thank you in advance for returning the form no later than February 3, 2023.
Girls on the Run!
Assistant coaches needed for Girls on the Run Spring season. Tracy Magwire (GBW parent) will be returning as the head coach. Practices will take place at GBW after school on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:15 - 5:30pm. The season begins March 6 and ends with a 5k race the weekend of May 20. If you are interested in coaching (no prior experience needed), please contact Tracy Magwire or Suzi Masten.
