The Key Center PTA is planning their first annual meeting.

Date:        Wednesday, January 18th
Location: Key Center School Cafeteria
Time:        5:30pm

During this meeting, we will elect new PTA board members. A pizza dinner will be provided free of charge.  Additionally, there will be a raffle for a wonderful quilt handmade by a student’s family member, thank you Key Center parent Berit Buontempo for providing this donation!

This week is Virginia School Principal Appreciation Week.  We want to recognize our enthusiastic and dedicated principal, Ann Smith. Please join us in expressing your thanks to  Ms. Smith for her energetic and compassionate leadership of our school.


COVID-19 Compensatory Education Plan Meetings for Families of Students with Disabilities

End of Second Quarter

As a reminder, Wednesday, January 25, is the last day of the quarter and a two-hour early release for students. Also, schools are closed for students on Thursday, January 26, for a staff development day and Friday, January 27, for a teacher workday.


Key Cafe Bakery

The students in Ms. Marielle’s class run a bakery business at Key Center School!  Each week the students bake and package muffins.  They visit classrooms with their bakery cart each Wednesday, selling their yummy muffins to our hungry (and appreciative!) staff members!

Staff Spotlight- Kelly Altman

This week’s Key Center Staff Spotlight is on Kelly Altman.  Kelly worked as a teacher for 8 years at Key Center.  This school year she accepted a position as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired, and happily, she continues to serve our students at Key Center.  Visit the Staff Spotlight on our school website to learn more about Kelly Altman.

PEATC is presenting a virtual workshop series for parents and professionals who want to learn more about special education in Virginia.

You can register to attend one or all of these workshops, which are presented online at 6:30PM.
