Hello! We hope you had a great weekend and are ready for another great week:) Below you'll read about some upcoming events, 2023 summer programs, free webinars, and more! As always please feel free to email me with any questions, comments, or concerns.
Lunar New Year - Year of the Rabbit - 2023
The Lunar New Year is celebrated throughout many Asian cultures, including Chinese, South Korean, Vietnamese, Singaporean, Malaysian, Filipino, Japanese, and Indonesian.
Lunar New Year begins on January 22, 2023, and the number of celebration days with different names varies depending on the country. For example, in South Korea, Seollal usually lasts three days, whereas Spring Festival, called Chunjie, lasts 15 days in China. In Vietnam, Tết Nguyên Đán lasts for one week.More than 2 billion people celebrate Lunar New Year each year with colorful traditions and activities to welcome a new year and wish for luck and prosperity.
Lunar New Year is a celebration of community. Families gather to eat feasts and practice cultural traditions during this time.
More information and resource can be found here.
Please join Learning Heroes and the Oak Foundation for a webinar on February 23, from 3-4 pm ET, as they reveal new national research findings from parents with K-12 children who learn differently (i.e., diagnosed with or suspected to have challenges with reading, writing, or math; Executive Function Disorder; and/or attention, auditory, or visual processing disorders).
"The Parent Journey: Cracking the Code for Families of Children with Learning Differences" will explore how some parents have "cracked the code" in navigating complex systems and processes on behalf of their children, discuss opportunities to support more families, and share parent perspectives on their individual journeys.
