Training Session for Families- IFSP Funding Opportunity
The Individual and Family Support Program (IFSP) recently announced that they would be accepting applications for funding requests soon. IFSP-Funding provides direct assistance to families and individuals who are on Virginia’s DD waiver waitlist. Individuals with a developmental disability who are on the DD waitlist or their family members are eligible to apply.
The following dates have been provided:
- Monday, January 23rd for Waitlist Priority 1
- Wednesday, January 25th for Waitlist Priorities 2 and 3
To assist families in completing applications, there will be a virtual training session offered by IFSP on January 18th from 1:00-2:00PM. A QR code linking to the registration can be located on the flier being sent home with students today.
The best way to stay updated regarding this funding opportunity, make sure to join the IFSP email list. ABA Parent Training- Steps for Systematically Teaching New Behaviors
This workshop is intended for parents of students with Autism served in preschool autism classrooms (PAC), Enhanced Autism Classrooms (EAC) and CAT B secondary classrooms.
Topics covered will include:
▪ How are behaviors taught?
▪ What are the “learning to learn” behaviors?
▪ How do I select a behavior to teach?

PTA and PIZZA EVENT!
The Key Center PTA is planning their first annual meeting.
Date: Wednesday, January 18th
Time: 5:30pm
Location: Key Center School Cafeteria
During this meeting, we will elect new PTA board members. A pizza dinner will be provided free of charge. Additionally, there will be a raffle for a wonderful quilt handmade by a student’s family member, thank you Key Center parent Berit Buontempo for sending in this donation!
