FCPS students continue to find incredible ways to serve their community while building Portrait of a Graduate skills such as becoming an ethical and global citizen. FCPS is excited to collaborate again with Volunteer Fairfax for the upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend of Service, Saturday, January 14, to Monday, January 16. This service opportunity helps empower individuals and strengthens communities while honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Volunteer Fairfax will host several ways for the community to get involved including volunteer activities for students and adults of all ages. To learn more about the MLK Jr. Weekend of Service and the specific service activities, visit Volunteer Fairfax’s website.
Mary Beth Krepinevich came to Eagle View Elementary as Family Liaison in January 2023 after moving back to Virginia from Alabama. Her B.S. is from Slippery Rock State University in Secondary Education/Communication Arts and her M.S. in Social Work is from The University of Alabama. In Alabama, she worked in Community Mental Health for almost 20 years with children and parents. Prior to moving to Alabama, she was an educator for Head Start in Falls Church, but she initially taught middle and high school English, in Elmira, New York. Mary Beth loves being back in Virginia and being able to spend more time with her daughter’s family, especially her grandson.

The FCPS Outstanding Employee Awards program celebrates the efforts and accomplishments of exceptional school-based and nonschool-based employees from throughout the district. Nominations are accepted from colleagues, supervisors, students, and parents. Please join us in celebrating the Eagle View staff members who were nominated.
Outstanding School-Based Operational Employee
Ms. Barbara Palencia
“I was lucky enough to have met Ms. Palencia at school during class events and during a class field trip. Each time, I watched her as she garnered the attention of the students with such poise, calmness and patience. Based on my observation, I know she loves her students so dearly.
-Eagle View Parent
Outstanding Teacher Nomination
Ms. Ginger Albertson
“Ms. Albertson has a wealth of knowledge on how to build relationships with our students and understand their needs, their hopes and their dreams. She works tirelessly to advocate for all children and helps staff meet their needs.”
-Eagle View Colleague
Outstanding New Principal
Ms. KJ An
“What makes Mrs. An sparkle and shine is her ability to connect with students, families, and colleagues. It has been amazing to see how many community members, former Eagle View students, families, and teachers began visiting the school to welcome her back home. It is remarkable to hear how much she remembers about her former students - their strengths, family members, funny stories about them, and their interactions with other students.”
