Dual Language Immersion Program Registration
Registration for the countywide lottery for Dual Language Immersion (DLI) programs will open on Monday, January 23. Current pre-k students may apply for the kindergarten immersion program, and current kindergarten students may apply for the first grade immersion programs for the 2023-24 school year.
Programs are available in French, German, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish. Visit the DLI registration page for more information on where the programs are offered.
Parents who are interested in the DLI programs in FCPS are encouraged to attend the informational meeting at the Ravensworth cafeteria on Wednesday, January 11th at 6:30 pm. Details regarding access to virtual meetings will be available on the Dual Language Immersion registration page by the meeting date.

Inscripción en el Programa de Inmersión en Dos Idiomas
La inscripción para la lotería en todo el condado para los programas de Inmersión en Dos Idiomas (DLI) se abrirá el lunes 23 de enero. College and University Awareness Day
The SCA is sponsoring college and university awareness day on January 20th. We are hoping our students could wear clothing representing a particular college or university. Also, if you as a parent have time and know about or attended a college or university, tell your child what it was like attending a college or university.

Magnet School Application and Lottery Information
The Magnet Program registration window will be open from Wednesday March 1, through Wednesday, April 12, 2023. No late applications are accepted.

This week our school community will focus on Prudence. Prudence means you plan for the future and achieve your goals by making careful everyday choices. Prudence is the ability to do the right thing for the right reason, at the right time. It’s a future-oriented way of thinking that helps a person set goals, make plans, and have the discipline to accomplish them. It is cognitive -- more a strength of the head than of the heart.
To practice and encourage the character strength of perspective with your child, please visit the Positivity Project’s P2 for Families (password: P2), where together you will watch a video, read a quote, and talk about the answers to three questions.
