New Year - New Playground!
Oak View was thrilled to have our playground returned to us this past Friday! Students were treated to the announcement of the opened playground via the morning news and cheers went up throughout the school. It was a fun place to be Friday morning! So far the reviews have been overwhelmingly positive with new equipment to try and new skills to practice. We look forward to having a larger opening at an upcoming community event and will communicate the date and plan in upcoming Oak View Reviews.
Oak View PTA Meeting - Tuesday
Oak View PTA invites all families to join us virtually on Tuesday, January 10 at 7:00 p.m. for our next PTA meeting. We will discuss upcoming events and other items of interest to the Oak View community. Hope you can join us.
Bullying Prevention Parent Information Night - Tuesday, January 17
Oak View in collaboration with the Robinson Pyramid and FCPS Student Safety and Wellness office invite all families to an information session about bullying prevention and identification. This event will be hosted at Terra Centre elementary on Tuesday, January 17 and is open to all Oak View families. Families are welcome to attend in-person or online.
Please complete the Robinson Pyramid Bullying Presentation RSVP so we can prepare for the estimated number of attendees and send links to families who plan to attend online.
Pyramid Substance Use Presentation
Oak View and FCPS are dedicated to providing parents and community members with the most accurate and up-to-date information on youth substance use, prevention, addiction, interventions and available supports. Please join us and our partners from the Fairfax County Police Department and Community Services Board as we discuss these topics as well as the ongoing opioid crisis. Attendees will walk away with an understanding of:
Alcohol, nicotine, cannabis, and opioid.
List what you can do as a caregiver.
How to identify and connect with community resources.
At Oak View, we recognize we are serving our county's youngest students and know that early intervention and prevention is key to curtailing the use of substances at times in the future.
**This presentation is designed for adults only. As a split feeder, Oak View families can attend whichever presentation works best for their schedule.
