Service Learning @ Key MS
Key Families,
Students have been learning about their required service learning hours for Fairfax County in Social Studies classes. We are asking for families to support their students' engagement in getting their service learning hours. Service learning is very similar to community service but adding in a reflection piece so students can think back on their experiences. Naviance is a program that students have access to in Schoology that allows them to track their hours. Below is information connected to service learning and opportunities for engagement:
- 7th graders are required to complete 5 hours
- 8th graders are required to complete 10 hours
- Resources for opportunities can be found at Volunteer Fairfax
- Social Studies teachers will announce in-school and in-class opportunities for hours
If you have any questions or concerns about service learning or the requirements please reach out to your students’ Social Studies teacher.
