December 19 - January 2: Winter Break. School is closed for staff and students.

January 10: Picture Retake Day. This will be for students who were not here on our first picture day or who have been recently enrolled. It is also an option for families who were not satisfied with their child's original photo - just send the photo proof/package back to school with your child on January 10 and their picture will be retaken.

January 11: PTA Meeting, 6 p.m., SEES Cafeteria.

January 16: School Holiday - Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday. School is closed for staff and students.

January 25: Two-Hour Early Release/End of 2nd Quarter. Students will be dismissed at 2:05 p.m.

January 26 & 27: Staff Development/Teacher Workday. School is closed for students.
Notes from the Nest
On these last days of school for 2022, we enjoyed a school-wide sing-a-long and seeing everyone in pajamas!
To ensure students take a well-deserved break, no homework will be assigned over Winter Break. Teachers may have assigned long-range assignments in the weeks ahead of the break, allowing students to practice time management skills, but no assignments should be due immediately following the break.
We look forward to welcoming students back in the new year and wish all of our Eagles a safe, healthy, and wonderful Winter Break!

Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) in Middle School Family Night
Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) in Middle School Family Night will be on January 10th at 6:30 p.m.
Sixth grade families are invited to a virtual meeting to learn about the advanced academics programs at Key Middle School. This presentation will provide families with information about gifted services, known in FCPS as “Advanced Academic Programs, or “AAP” in secondary schools. Look for more information about how to attend in early January.
