POG

Portrait of a Graduate

One of the POG Attributes we focus on at Crossfield and across FCPS is being a Collaborator. What are some of the characteristics of a good Collaborator?

  • Respects divergent thinking to engage others in thoughtful discussion.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work interdependently within a group to promote learning, increase productivity, and achieve common goals.
  • Analyzes and constructs arguments and positions to ensure examination of a full range of viewpoints.
  • Seeks and uses feedback from others to adapt ideas and persist in accomplishing difficult tasks.

How can you support your child’s Collaboration skills? Share examples of how you were a Collaborator during your day or within your job. Provide specific examples and explain how these skills helped you.

“I was a Collaborator today when I ___________________. This was helpful because_______________.”

Support Crossfield:  Holiday Shopping Edition

Here are three simple (and FREE) ways to support Crossfield this holiday season.

Amazon Smile

When you shop at smile.amazon.com, a percentage of your purchases will go to Crossfield Elementary PTO's fundraising efforts

To use AmazonSmile through your Amazon app, go into the main menu of the Amazon app and tap into 'Settings'. Tap 'AmazonSmile' and follow the on-screen instructions to turn AmazonSmile on and designate your charity to Crossfield Elementary PTO.  You can also register at smile.amazon.com and designate your charity to Crossfield Elementary PTO.

Harris Teeter Together in Education Program

Crossfield proudly joins Harris Teeter's Together in Education program to help raise funds for our school. Simply give the cashier our code, 5139, and your VIC card when you check out or log in to your Harris Teeter profile at harristeeter.com and click on My Account. Once your card is linked, Crossfield will receive a percentage of your Harris Teeter brand purchases credited back to our account for the entire school year.

Box Tops for Education

When you see this label on any product you purchase (like Cheerios!), use the Box Tops app to scan your receipt within 14 days of purchase. BoxTops are worth 10¢ for our school and add up quickly.  The app will find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add cash to our school’s earnings online.  Download the app here:  https://btfe.smart.link/c2jjdifkw?referral_code=PPLA6UQE

Tutor.com

Tutor.com

Imagine the doors of opportunity that could be opened for ALL students if each had access to unlimited academic support before, during, or after school at no cost to their families. Guess what? This exists for FCPS students! Through our partnership with Tutor.com, students have unlimited access to live, 24/7, 1-to-1, on-demand tutoring in Schoology.

Click here for more information on how it works.

Covid Case Manager

Crossfield has a Covid Case Manager this school year, Ms. Stefanie Ragano.  You may include her on emails alerting Crossfield that your child has tested positive. Ms. Ragano will communicate with families with the official letter and a timeline for returning to school for covid-positive students. Ms. Ragano’s email is skragano@fcps.edu.
