PTA Meeting Notes:

This week our PTA met and discussed the budget and upcoming events. Lots of great ideas!!

The current money in the PTA account was a donation from a very generous community member. It was given many years ago and can only be used for students in emergency situations. Some of that money was used during the Pandemic to support our students with groceries, medical, and clothing.

This year the PTA would like to support our school with paying for field trips, school supplies, and community events like our upcoming MOVIE NIGHT! We are also looking to do a Heritage Night and EAGLE FEST!

Family Life Education Preview Night

This week we also held a Family Life Education Preview Night. Teachers will send notification prior to teaching the lessons. If you would like to learn more you can visit our FCPS website here: https://www.fcps.edu/academics/academic-overview/family-life-education-fle

If you would like to review the materials please reach out to Ms. Dowling or Ms. Ciarcia and we can set up a time to walk you through how to find them.

January Virtual Town Hall

Join us January 5, 2022, for a Virtual Town Hall. Ms. Jackson-Muir will be updating the community on the final stages of renovation.

Time: 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

2023 Virginia School Survey of Climate and Working Conditions

This online survey is being conducted through a partnership between the Virginia Center of School and Campus Safety at the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services and the Virginia Department of Education. This online survey assess school safety conditions, student safety concerns, and gives schools information that can help maintain a safe, inviting, and supportive learning environment.

FCPS encourages all staff and families to participate in the survey. FCPS has set a participation rate goal and will track our school’s participation progress, which I will share with you. Therefore, I highly encourage you to complete the survey within the designated window. There are two window options. Our school will be notified as to which window we will participate in. The survey windows are as follows:

  •  Window A: January 10th through February 4th
  • Window B: February 7th through March 4th

I will keep you informed, as I receive more information about the 2023 Virginia School Survey of Climate & Working Conditions.
