Book Party and Celebration

Book Party

Ms. Thompson’s students presented persuasive essays about people and topics they felt deserved better recognition in our curriculum and libraries. Students presented to their classmates, librarians, and administrators.

Our librarians ordered books for each person and topic referenced in the presentations - that’s a little over 134 books. We celebrated with a book party, and displayed books and persuasive letters. It was a wonderful opportunity to shine a spotlight on our students who’ve quite literally made an impact on our school.

Impact Aid

Beginning October 18, FCPS asked all families to fill out a student-parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid

Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an additional $3 million in grants each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.

Advisory teachers will be sending a new copy of the pre-printed form for each student who did not submit a copy so far this fall. For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child's school. If Sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the box in Section 3. All forms must be signed, dated, and returned to Advisory teachers or A-128 by Tuesday, Dec. 13.

Don't forget - PTSA No Fuss Fundraiser!

We are grateful for how much has been raised in our "No Fuss" Fall Fundraiser. Remember with this fundraiser there's no fuss!! We're not asking you to sell candy or buy wrapping paper; we're just asking for you to donate. After two years of Covid, and the PTSA not doing a lot of fundraising, we really need to replenish our funds. These funds are needed to help provide the programs the PTSA offers the whole school community. Please consider donating now. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.
