Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Plans at Rocky Run Middle School

ESSER III Community Conversation on December 13

Thanks to everyone who provided input on ESSER III funding–which was allocated to FCPS to address the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on students and student learning–via an online feedback form in October. Community feedback indicated that there is a general unawareness of the impact of ESSER funding and a perceived lack of communication around how the funds are being used.

To help address this, Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid and Sloan Presidio, chief academic officer, will host a Community Conversation on ESSER on Tuesday, December 13, at 6:30 p.m. The event will be offered on Zoom as well as in person at the Gatehouse Administration Center in the café. All are welcome. Please register to attend.

Visit BoardDocs for a complete update on ESSER.

How We are Putting COVID Recovery/ESSER III Funds to Work

Rocky Run Middle School educators reviewed standardized testing data, teacher recommendations, and work samples to determine where to target the federal funding. Some students are being aided by supplies that help them visually see concepts like fractions. Others are receiving help with skills like planning and organizing their work.
