December Celebrations in our Community:
5-9 - Inclusive Schools Week
Inclusive Schools Week has celebrated the progress that schools have made in providing a supportive and quality education to an increasingly diverse student population, including students who are marginalized due to disability, gender, socio-economic status, cultural heritage, language preference, and other factors. The week also provides an important opportunity for educators, students and parents to discuss what else needs to be done in order to ensure that their schools continue to improve their ability to successfully educate all children. This year, the Inclusive Schools Week’s theme is “Unity Within Our Community.”
8th Grade FLE Reminder
This is a reminder that the Health and Physical Education Department at Rocky Run Middle School will be teaching 8th grade Human Growth and Development (HGD) the week of December 12-15 2022. Families can review the materials online. If you want to opt out your child of any FLE instruction, please download the opt-out form, fill in the appropriate information, and return it to your child’s health education teacher (Mrs. Alderman, Mrs. Lady, Mrs. Larsen, Mrs. Moore, Mr. Quinn.). Please email Martha Alderman if you have any questions. Mwalderman@fcps.edu

What is TalkingPoints?
TalkingPoints is an easy and safe way families can communicate in their home languages with their child’s teachers for free. We will be using this platform to communicate with you about your child’s education and progress.
How can families use TalkingPoints?
There are two ways families can use TalkingPoints.
- School and teacher messages will come directly to the phone number that is registered in our system as a SMS text or through the TalkingPoints Parent App.
- You can reply by text or through the app.
Families will receive messages in the language they have listed as their correspondence language. Families can reply in any language and the message will be translated into English for the school. If families prefer to not receive text messages from TalkingPoints, they can reply with "GOODBYE" at any time.
Download the TalkingPoints for Parents Mobile App!
