Dear Haycock Families,
It was wonderful to have many of you in the building for our evening strings and chorus concerts last week. Our students did an amazing in their performances.
Thank you to the wonderful PTA for providing a hot chocolate bar for our staff last week. It was a very special and appreciated treat for all of us.
A Community Conversation on ESSER will be hosted on Tuesday, December 13, at 6:30 p.m. The event will be hybrid, offered both on Zoom or in-person at the Gatehouse Administration Building in the café. All are welcome. Please register to attend.
If you have a chance to stop by the United Bank branch in Falls Church, you will see the wonderful art work of many Haycock students. Thank you to Gretchen Proctor and Jina Park, our art teachers, for organizing this art show. There will be a reception for these students on Wednesday, December 14 from 4:30-5:30. Congratulations to our Haycock artists.
The school office will be closed beginning on Monday, December 19, 2022 and will reopen on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
We wish you and your family a relaxing winter break and happy holidays. We will look forward to seeing our students again in 2023.

Longfellow Rising 7th Grade Curriculum Night
Longfellow Middle School is excited to invite you to the Rising 7th Grade Curriculum Night on Wednesday, January 11 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. This night will be full of information about Longfellow and the transition to middle school. Our core and elective teachers will highlight their exciting classes. There will be students and staff members to answer any questions you might have. The inclement weather date is Wednesday, January 18 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm.

COVID Diagnostic Testing in January
Mark your calendars! COVID diagnostic testing will be available for FCPS teachers, staff, and students at five locations across the county January 3-5 from 5 to 8 p.m. This testing is for those who are either experiencing COVID symptoms or have been exposed to someone diagnosed with COVID. Appointments are not required, but registration must be completed before testing. Visit the COVID Testing webpage for more information.
